Easter 2011

I love celebrating Easter. I love keeping it small and simple and focusing on Christ. This year was even more clam because we had sick kids! Isaac had strep and Matt had.....well, not strep. He was SO sick he wanted to die and yet there was no "name" for it! That being said we didn't go to Mom and Don's for the Easter party on Saturday. We just stayed home and got ourselves ready for Sunday! We cleaned and then had a blast coloring eggs with our neighbor Liban. He's Muslim and didn't really get it, but he had fun coloring eggs! My kids were so cute!Sunday started with a fun egg hunt and fun with the baskets. Then things just calmed down and we sat down as a family and watched "To This End Was I Born". It's one of my FAVORITE films that the Church has put out. We watch it every year and every year we end up in tears. This year as we were watching it, Nick (who I totally thought was oblivious) Looked up and freaked out. He started to cry and he said "NO HE'S OWIE! WHY ARE THEY HURTING HIM??? NOT JESUS!" I couldn't stop the tears. I'm so thankful for the tender spirits of my little ones.

Church was wonderful and dinner was yummy. And thanks to my wonderful friends the Voigt's Matt even got to eat some eggs! Jello eggs anyway. Thanks for our wonderful friends the Voigt's who brought over their Jello egg and jelly bean molds. Matt was SO HAPPY! I'm just thankful for the time that I got to spend with my little family celebrating the life, death and resurrection of my Lord and Savior. I've never really been able to put into words the love and appreciation that I feel for my Savior. I owe him everything and then some.
