4 Months OLD?

I can't believe that Nick is already so big! He's getting so strong and silly. He smiles ALL the time, is now rolling over and he is still a great sleeper. I am sure it won't last (I have had 4 other "good sleepers") but I'll take it while it lasts! I know that this is going to sound funny to most people, but he has a long pointy tongue (like his Uncle Tee!) He's so much fun to just sit and watch. I love those moments when it's just me and him so that I can stare into his eyes and talk to him about where he came from and where he's going in life. I LOVE being a mom.

An "Old Fashioned Drive In"

This quarter for the school's AR party they are have a Drive In. The kids all got to decorate a cardboard box car to sit in while they watch the movie. Well Matt decided he wanted a semi truck for his vehicle, and once Tyler saw Matt's design he wanted to help! So we decided to make it all together and then the boys could share the car at school. Well with Mike for a dad the Semi turned into an AWESOME sight. Mom and Don and Mary and Mike and fam were here while Mike and the boys finished it up, and BOY OH BOY did the kids love it! You ROCK Mike!

A Great Nation

As I sit here watching the Inauguration I am overwhelmed by the blessing that it is to live in the United States Of America. Regardless of political views the democratic process is wonderful to watch. The fact that every 4 years we have a chance to CHOOSE our leaders. And those leaders can take office in peace is awesome.

We were discussing the Inauguration last night with the boys and I was a proud mom when one of my boys said that he was so so excited to have a black president, and that he just knew that Martin Luther King Jr. was excited and proud. The boys find it hard to believe that there was a time not so long ago when people were treated SO poorly because of the color of their skin, and I am so glad that they find it hard to believe. I'm glad that all of my boys will never thing it's weird, or strange or new to have a president that is anything other than white! God Bless America!

Walking With The Dinosaurs

For Christmas this year we gave the boys tickets to Walking With The Dinosaurs. (The Malan's and Neff's gave their kids tickets too.)

So Wednesday was our day......and the boys were all so excited! Lucas had talked about it for days. He LOVES T-REX. I was a little (lot) stressed about taking the baby, but there wasn't really anyway around that so I said a prayed and went for it. We decided to go to Rumbi Grill for dinner. It was yummy as usual and the kids actually ate really well. I think that they were so exicted to go to the show that they were willing to do anything! Our seats were up high, but I think that with the little ones that was best. Then they could enjoy the dino's from a distance. I have never seen anything like it. The dinosaurs were so realistic. even their skin moved like it should! Tyler and Angelo came up with a plan to work for them when they get older! Nick did great too! I was amamzed. Walking with the Dinosaurs was worth every penny and I would go again today if I could!

Isaac and Tanner, Best Buddies

Tuesday night Kami watched my kids while I went to Tyler's basketball game. When I got there to pick the boys up Isaac was COVERED with hives. His whole body was like one giant welt. Then his breathing started to get bad and he started throwing up. He was reacting to something. Mike and I were doing everything we could think of when the phone rang. It as Tanner. He was so worried about Isaac, and he wanted to know if Isaac wanted his Dad to come over and help Mike give him a blessing. Oh the faith of a child. Travis and Tanner came over and Mike and Trav gave Isaac a wonderful blessing. Finally Isaac was able to sleep and by Wednesday morning he was ok. I am so glad that he has such a great friend.

A GREAT Birthday!

My Birthday this year was great! Mike went way over the top, which I can't complain about too loudly! On Thursday my washer broke. Like DIED broke, and I was stressed. Well on Friday afternoon RC Willey showed up with a NEW STACKING FRONT LOADING WASHER AND DRYER!! I was so excited! Ok, so i know that a lot of people will think that I am crazy, but I do enough laundry to really appreciate a good washer and dryer! We all sat down stairs and watched the washer run! It was so silly, but we all were so excited!

Then Friday night Mike and I went bowling! It goes so much faster without the kids! (And It wasn't even my birthday yet!)

I got even more presents on Saturday! I got a new video camera, and a great book that Matt remembered me saying I wanted clean back in November! I love my family. I also got to go out with friends! Then Saturday night my family all came over for a FABULOUS Czech dinner. Yummy Paprika Chicken! And to top it all off there was another wolf Moon! We pulled out the telescope and watched the moon! I should turn 31 more often!

My Knight in Shining Armor

I have the world's BEST husband! Yesterday started off normal. We got Tyler and Matt out the door at 7:30 for Chess Club and then Mike helped me get the next round of preschool lessons ready and out to the mom's. Then he went to work and I got busy with normal "Mom stuff". About noon Mike called to see how we were and while we were talking my head started to hurt. Nothing new for me and it wasn't that bad, so i mentioned it and then moved on with our conversation. Then at about 1:00 it got BAD. I im'd Mike and just said "it's getting bad" and next thing I know he's taking his lunch break to bring me a Dr. Pepper and then hurry back to work. In the 15 minutes it took him to get here it had gone from "BAD" to "one of the worst migraine's I've ever had" and I was curled up in a ball crying! He walked in saw me and called work to say he wasn't coming back. He gave me a pain pill, 44oz of Dr. Pepper, covered my bedroom windows with blankets and ushered me to bed. 4 hours later I could stand up. During that time Mike had cleaned up the rest of the Christmas decorations, cleaned up the playroom, picket up carpool, done the dishes, gone birthday shopping, found our lost 10 year old, figured out dinner, cleaned up the garage, brought the baby back and forth for feedings, tried to fix my broken washer, entertained Lucas ( a BIG job) and probably many other things I missed. I LOVE U MIKE!!!

Running Away!

Friday morning Mike and I were have an IM conversation about how worn out we were. Christmas break wasn't the most relaxing time this year. between making our presents, the wedding and the stomach flu we were worn out. Mike asked if there was anyone that I could think of that would take the boys over night. I said "Heck no! Not with the way Lucas sleeps!" and then I asked him if we could make it a small family vacation weekend. So he called one of the Best Western Hotel's on ain street in Logan and scored us a great deal on a suite. So, I started secretly packing! I didn't want the boys to know that we were going anywhere until we got there!

Mike got home around 5:30 and we ate dinner and then we told the boys to grab their coats and shoes and we headed to the van. They were a little curious when we took the dog to Mary's house, but we didn't tell them anything. The 3 little ones fell asleep but Tyler and Matt watched the entire way! Now if you live around here you know that Friday night brought with it a great snow storm. That snow storm and Sardine Canyon caused for a VERY stressful drive! It reminded me of the part of Logan living that I DON'T miss!

Anyway, when we got to Logan and pulled into the Hotel parking lot Tyler and Matt were So excited! But the were also very concerned because they didn't have swimming suits! When I told them that everything they needed was packed in the back of the van they both started to jump up and down and yell. They woke up Isaac and Lucas, who after quickly being brought up to speed, joined in the celebration!

We unloaded the van and Mike and the boys hit the pool! They were so excited! It took us a while to get everyone calmed down enough to sleep, but once they fell asleep there were ALL out for the count! (That almost NEVER happens!)

Saturday morning we ate breakfast and then went on the "Logan Tour" We started with our Town House where we lived when Tyler was born, then hit Gossners for some squeeky cheese! Did you know that they make Jerkey flavored squeeky cheese?

After Gossners we drove past the Logan Hospital because Tyler just HAD to see where he was born! In fact he insisted on a picture in front of the Hospital!

Then we headed up to campus! it was so much fun to see the football stadium (Or as Mike likes to call it "The place where nothing good ever happens"), and the Bull and BRRRRR Aggie Village!

And even though it was FEEZING we had to stop for Aggie Ice cream!

As we were leaving the Ice cream shop we begged a few garbage bags off of the workers and took the boys sledding on Old Main Hill! Ok, so they weren't the best sleds, and we didn't have any snow clothes, but the kids had a blast! A freezy blast, but still a blast!

After sledding everyone wanted to get warm so we headed back to the hotel to go swimming! The great thing about Logan after Christmas and New Years, is that NO ONE was at the hotel! That meant we had the pool to ourselves. Which also means that I was brave and took the baby down too. Mike and I took turns sitting out with him, but it was fun to be doing something fun as a whole family instead of in shifts!

After naps and showers we decided to go and get some dinner. Gia's was closed for some reason so we decided to grab a pizza at the Pizza Factory. You would have thought that we walked into the seediest bar in the world given our children's reaction! There were peanut shells on the floor and the tables have been carved on, but it's clean! But the boys wer ealmost in tears. and Matt "didn't have a good feeling". Mike and I were trying so hard not to laugh! We realized that we don't really hit the college pizza joints with our kids these day! But we got some yummy pizza and the boys got to play pool with Mike and so they were ok...still hesitant, but ok by the time we left!

I had Mike drop me and the baby off at the Hotel and then he and the boys went to see Macey's. I know that doesn't sound like a fun place to go, but working there was a blessing while we were in school. It gave us Sundays off and payed the bills! But little did we know, they built a new HUGE Macey's! So after grabbing a few groceries for Sunday Mike and the boys came back to the Hotel to swim again!

We had the best time in Logan! It was fun to remember were we started out as a small family of 2 (and then 3!). It was fun to get away from all of our "have too's" and just have fun as a family. I love my boys! (Mike's one of my boys too!)

pictures are coming soon!
