Baptisms

I love going to the temple, and lately we've been lucky enough to have a bunch of family names (thanks to Mary). Well today we got to share those names with the Neff family. They have a great family tradition of going together to do Baptisms when someone turns 12. Jamie needed names and we had some to share. She was also sweet enough to invite us! Angelo was grinning from ear to ear and just beaming! I LOVE being in the temple and being there with great friends made it even better! Thanks Angelo, Jamie and Dave!

Olympic Fever

We LOVE the Olympics around here. This is my favorite 2 weeks every 2 years. Summer or Winter it doesn't matter. It has been so much fun watching Apollo, and Lindsey Vonn, and Bode Miller........I could go on and on. HOWEVER, last nights Women's Figure Skating takes the cake. I have never been so impressed with an athlete as I was last night. Joannie Rochette really show'd what the Olympics are all about. Kudo's to her!

Ahoy Matey's!!

AAARRRRRGGGGGG!!! All Land Lubbers take notice, the Jolly Rodger is a flyin at the Staten house!

Yesterday was our "February Birthday Dinner/Party". Since Mary and I have all of the February B-days, and it was actually Lucas' Birthday Mary and I decided to plan a killer party. And KILLER it was! We told everyone to dress up and be ready to set sail!

Everyone looked great, but the best part is how we ate! I covered the tables with plastic and we just threw the food on the table and went to town. It kinda grossed Jon out, but I LOVED it!

Hopefully the Birthday boys enjoyed it as much as I did!

PARTY TIME!!

February is a little nutty around here. Lucas, Zach and Preston have Birthdays that are all with in 4 days. That means that we have a LOT of parties! Yesterday we started the day with Lucas' Harry Potter friend party.

He was so excited and we tried dour hardest to make it everything he wanted! We played Don't Eat Pete (Harry Potter style), Pin the Quaffel in goal hoops, Ron, Ron, Harry (Duck Duck Goose) and a Zebra (?) Pinata! We had a yummy Golden Snitch cake and some crackling potion (gaterade and pop rocks), and everyone left with a "Young Wizards Survival Pack" (chocolate dipped licorice wands, chocolate dipped frogs, Bernie Botts beans, Ton-tounge Taffy, galleons, Droobles best blowing gum, bugs for parts in potions, and a sneak-a-scope)

It was a GREAT party!

Then we ate lunch and headed to Zach's friend party! It was an awesome Magic tree house party and I have to say, Mary did an awesome job (as usual)

Tonight we had a Pirate family party, but that is going to have to come tomorrow!

Fabulous 4!!!

Well, MY Sweet little Lucas is 4!! I really can't believe that it's been 4 years since our "freebee baby" was born! EASIEST delivery ever! Of course his 2's made up for it but, I LOVE 4!

Lucas has always been so full of energy and love. Right now I am LOVING just listening to the things that come out of his mouth. Everything is "Ours" right now. "Ours house", "Ours Cousins" And "Ours friends" are some that we hear all the time right now.

He is also VERY smart and he LOVES to write and type. All day long I hear " Mom how do you spell.......?" And "Mom where are yours smelly markers?"

I sure am thankful for my wonderful little 4 year old!

About a month age Nick had a bad stomach flu. He lost a pound and was one sick little guy. Ever since then he seems to think that he is STARVING all of the time! He signs "MORE" almost 24-7. The funny thing is he eats every time he signs it! Here's a run down of a typical day's menu.

6:30 a bowl of oatmeal
7:00 a bowl of cereal
8:30 more oatmeal
10:00 fruit snack or crackers
nap
12:00 lunch
2:00 bowl of oatmeal
3:00 yogurt
4:30 crackers
5:30 dinner
7:00 bowl of oatmeal
8:30 bowl of oatmeal

And the funny thing is he really thinks he is Starving! You would have thought that Tyler and Matt would be eating us out of house and home, but nope! It's Nick!

Nail Polish!

Ok, so I NEVER paint my nails anymore. It's WAY to hard to paint them and have them dry before I have to help a child. But for that rare occasion where I feel like "dressing it all up" I still have the stuff in the bathroom. Well today Lucas found it and asked me to paint his nails. I did one hand in green sparkles and told him that once the baby was asleep I would do the other one. Well things got busy and we forgot. Forgot until Isaac came home and saw it on the counter that is!
I saw them in the bathroom painting each others toe nails. I decided to let it go and told them to stay in the bathroom until they were dry and to only paint nails. I SO SHOULD HAVE JUST TAKEN IT AWAY!!! A couple of minutes later I looked in on them and FREAKED! It looked like Nick was bleeding down his face! Well, really it was "just" nail polish. ALL OVER IN HIS HAIR AND RUNNING DOWN HIS FACE! GRRRRRRR!!! Thank goodness Kami had acetone nail polish remover and I was able to get it out of his hair.

BOYS!!!
