Luke the Builder!

Lucas LOVES to build and create. The garage is one of his favorite places to be. It doesn't hurt that it's a place where he can spend time with his Dad either. Anyway, the other day I was out weeding and Lucas set up a wood shop on the front lawn. He told me all about how Dad had given him a box FULL of wood that he could use! I think we have another woodworker in the family!

10 Years...Miss Ya Dad

It's hard to believe it but it's already been 10 years since my Dad died. That's a day, and week, that I will never forget. There are days that I just really wish I could call my Dad. Or get a hug. It makes my heart hurt. There is just something about a Dad. I also feel bad that my kids have missed out on having Opa around. I was pregnant with Matt when he died so Ty's the only one, of all the grand kids that ever met him. Darn it. Well, I love you Dad and will always miss you. hugs and kisses.

Nail Polish

Lucas LOVES nail polish. Well, he actually loves to paint anything, and when he found my green nail polish he was so excited! I went into the bathroom and found him painting his nails :) In fact he's a better nail painter than I am! He did both hands and didn't get any on his hands AT ALL! Ahhh my little Picaso!

Kindergarten Round Up!

Oh I honestly can't believe that today was Kindergarten Round Up for Lucas. I have no idea where the time has gone! He was SO excited to go that he couldn't stand still! He had a blast in the Kindergarten pod. He Loved the water table, coloring and eating cookies! I think the best part for him though was the pink balloon that he got to bring home!

Poor Matt

This morning we had Matt's appointment with the allergist. We knew that there were a few things he might be allergic to, but I don't think that we were ready for the list. Corn, carrots, celery, apples, banana's, milk, eggs, Almonds and pork.

Now, Mike and I both have food allergies, but Matt's are a little different because he's actually allergic to the FOOD, not the tree, plants or pollens like we are. We can cook our fruit's and veggies and with 2 exceptions we're ok, but Matt can't. He can't have any of these foods and milk, eggs, and corn are in EVERYTHING!!!!!! Poor Matt's been in tears. I feel so bad. Mike feels so bad. The list of things he CAN'T have is huge when it all comes down to it. Poor guy. I went to the store to try to find things he could eat. I ended up in tears. Somehow we'll figure this out!

There is a BIG silver lining though.....she thinks that Matt's choking is a condition caused by his allergies! His Esophagus is constantly swollen thus the choking. We're going to a Pediatric GI doc for a scope to be sure, BUT man it sure would explain a LOT!!!

Another GREAT General Conference!

I love General Conference. I look forward to it, plan for it, love it. This time around we had so many soccer games that we missed Saturday, which makes me sad. BUT it's DVR'd and we're working through a talk a day as a family. Even though we missed the general sessions on Saturday, Tyler and Mike did go to Priesthood, and since we had been in American Fork for soccer, they went with My Grandpa, Don, David, Glade Darwin and Bonnie's son (who's name is escaping me....sorry). Ty had a blast. He LOVED all of the talks and once again took awesome notes! Afterwords we all went to dinner (while Matt babysat the kiddo's at mom's). Ty sat across from Grandpa and Beverly and had fun talking with Grandpa. Afterwords Ty said to me with tears in his eyes "I'm so glad we went with them. You just don't know how much longer we will have with Grandpa. That makes me sad" I love my sweet Tyler and I love that he realizes how special little moments like this are.

Sunday was a PERFECT day. I LOVED each and every talk. It just felt like everyone was talking right to me. One talk that I loved and just still stands out to me was Elder Johnson's talk. One of my favorite quotes from his talk was: "Trials are not just to test us. They are vitally important to the process of putting on the divine nature." It hit me hard. Our trials help MAKE us what we are!

I love sitting here with my family, listening for our "words" and talking about what we're learning. My kids never cease to amaze me:)

My April Fools!

I love April Fools day. I don't like mean jokes, but I LOVE fun food and funny jokes. This year my day started off in a great way. I got on Facebook to see if Stephen and Melissa had poster their joke.....which I had been waiting to see for almost a year! They had! Tee had stayed up and posted that they were pregnant just after midnight. My mom, who never checks Facebook EVER had gotten on that morning. She was TICKED. I was laughing hysterically. I called Tee to see if Mom had called him. She had, and she had GONE off on him hahahahahahahahahahaha. He tried to tell her to look at a calendar, but she refused. Several times before catching on. LOVE it!

Anyway, my kids woke up expecting something to be funny with their breakfast. They were sad that everything was normal! Little did they know, their lunches were silly. I put gummy worms in their apples, and carrots in their cheetos bags and then resealed them with 2 sided tape. They came home saying that their friends thought they were so lucky :)

Dinner was fun. Isaac asked if we were having funny food again this year. I said nope and that their lunches had been the fun food this year. He was almost in tears because he'd seen me making pasta and knew what dinner was. Well, at least he thought he did :) I had let them see me making pasta so that they wouldn't suspect the "fake" food when I put it on the table. The first platter of "pasta"that I put on the table was really frosting piped onto angel food cake, strawberry ice cream syrup and chocolate malt balls. No one really payed attention to it until it started plopping onto their plates. Hehehehehe THEN they realized that it wasn't real. Isaac was bouncing up and down he was so excited. So after dessert we had the real pasta.I love my family and I love doing fun things with them. There's nothing better than this!
