Happy Birthday BABY!!! (Nicholas' First Birthday!)

I honestly Cannot Believe that Nick is 1! Where did his first year go? I really thought that with him needing to stay home for 6 months the year would drag, but it didn't! And I actually enjoyed staying home (most of the time). It's not very often that on your fifth child you get to just take it easy and stay home!

Last year when I sat looking at him in his incubator, with tubes coming out of him from every which way, I was worried. Worried, but not scared. After his blessing I knew he would be ok. I didn't know how, but I knew he would be. That didn't stop the tears though. But the tears of joy that I felt on my Anniversary when I walked into the NICU and saw that he was off of the Vent were probably the most cleansing, and beautiful tears I have ever cried!
Nick has been an angel from the beginning. Other than his 2 hospital stays, he's been SO easy. He is loving and sweet, and Boy does he LOVE his brothers. His first word was "Tyler". He still only says "Tyler", "ATT" (MAtt), and "There".

And BOY is he a walker! He runs all over the place! I LOVE this age and I am so thankful for my little Nick!

Sunday after church we had a party for Nick. We were lucky enough to share the day with family and friends that I couldn't love without! Most of them were the ones that kept me sane during that 6 months! And I have to say it was Wonderful to have Stephen (Nick's namesake) here! The "cakes" I had fun making Nick's motorcycle cake, but I think that Mike's snake cake was pretty awesome too!!

We also sang "Happy Birthday to Mike, Travis and cousin Jonathan. It was a GREAT party!

Happy Birthday My Sweet Heart!

This weekend we celebrated Mike's 34th Birthday! I love my husband. He is such a hard worker. He would do anything for our family and I love him for it!

For his Birthday what he really wanted was to go to the Sam Payne concert in Sandy, so on Friday night we took the boys to the concert. It was great because we got to sit on the grass (which means we didnt have to fight to keep the kids in their seats) and it was just plain RELAXING!!!

Then on Saturday, Mike's actual Birthday, (and after the soccer games, farmers market, house and yard work!) We went to dinner with Kami and Travis to celebrate Mike's b-day and Travis' 40th!!! Happy birthday guys!!!

Good Bye Ray

I'm very sad to say that a wonderful man has died. Ray Yerkes was one of those people that could light up a room with his smile and his laugh. He was always so sweet and loving to me. He treated me like a daughter and was a Father figure when I needed one. Sometimes life is tough and I just hope that Ray knows how loved he was. Oh how I will miss him!

Here's his obituary:

Labor Day

We had a great day Monday. After getting a bunch of chores done and some of my preschool stuff ready we went swimming up at Jenn's Mom and Dad's. It was just what we needed. Being able to just relax and play with friends was just what the Doctor ordered. After swimming we went to dinner at Wingers. It was good food, terrible service, and good friends, so all in all it was great! Thanks Jenn and Matt!Isaac is my little Gentleman. He had to run ahead and get the door for me!

Nicholas was so funny! He scratched Mike's arm and MIke said "ouch" is a calm voice and Nick lost it! He was heart broken! And then every time Mike looked at him he began to sob all over again!!
