Good Bye Ray


I'm very sad to say that a wonderful man has died. Ray Yerkes was one of those people that could light up a room with his smile and his laugh. He was always so sweet and loving to me. He treated me like a daughter and was a Father figure when I needed one. Sometimes life is tough and I just hope that Ray knows how loved he was. Oh how I will miss him!

Raymond David Yerkes 1955 ~ 2009 Age 53, left this world on September 8, 2009. Ray came into this world on December 28, 1955, in San Antonio, Texas, to Lester Allen and Anna T. Yerkes. He married Susan Barton on November 12, 1983. They were later sealed in the Jordan River LDS Temple. Ray was a wonderful Husband, Father, Grandfather (PaGa), Brother and Uncle. He loved children and was always found playing with the kids. He loved camping and shooting in the mountains, but most of all he loved his family. We will always remember his unique laugh and engaging smile. He leaves behind his eternal sweetheart and best friend Susan, their son Joshua Ray Yerkes, daughter-in-law Kimberly and grandchildren Mitchell and Bennett. We love you and will miss youPaGa. Also survived by his mother, Anna T. Yerkes, brothers Allan (Jan) and Steve (Susan) Yerkes, and sister, Susan (Ron) Orr. Ray was well loved by all who knew him. He was preceded in death by his father, Lester Allen Yerkes. Viewing services will be held on Friday, September 11, 2009, from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Mountain View Memorial Mortuary. 3115 East 7800 South, Cottonwood Heights, Utah 84121.
