Revenge of the Sith

We had a great morning getting ready for the Preschool Halloween party. Isaac was so excited to be Darth Maul, and I think that Mike was just as excited to make him into Darth Maul!! I tried and tried to convince the boys to do something non-star wars, but as you can see I failed! I think Tyler might be Leven Thumps, but everyone else is a "Star Wars Guy!" And as you can see, Mike has had a great time with the effects too!

Black Island Farms

We went on a great preschool field trip today to the Black Island Farms in Syracuse. It was awesome! First we got to go on a "hay ride" minus the hay! While on the ride we got to see where they grew their feed corn, onions, cabbage, carrots, sunflowers, squash and of course pumpkins! I had no idea that carrot tops could grow so tall! It was a carrot tree! Then the kids got to pick out their own pumpkin and cut them off of the vine. Isaac and Lucas were in heaven!

After our ride we got to "play". And play we did! They had several huge slides, small slides, a hay maze, a corn maze, a steer roping area, a pumpkin bounce house, teeter totters, a "cow" train, and lots of farm animals! (Of course I avoided the goats!)

It was one of the greatest field trips we've done! We all loved it!!

"A corn maze is where you go to have fun and get lost, and get a little scared!"

Last night was great! Mom came up to spend some time and "do something fun". First she took the boys to Walmart. I know to most this won't seemlike "fun", but since I can't go anywhere with the baby, and there was money burning a hole in Matt's pocket It was the "funnest" thing Matt could think of! Matt was dying to get a new Star Wars toy. I guess the 1000 we have aren't enough! Anyway Mom took all 4 boys and their money and braved the store!

Then she and I went to dinner. Which I think saved my sanity! The walls of my house were getting a little close, and strawberry chicken and Mom saved the day!

After dinner Mom and I took the boys to the "Punkinaze" in West Haven. They have a great corn maze and an even greater giant slide! The boys were so excited when they saw the slide! After getting a momentary slide fix we hit the maze. The boys were a little nervous at first, but Isaac took Mom's hand, Lucas had mine, and Tyler and Matt as usual helped each other! They are so cute together. We all took turns deciding which direction to go, and had a great time getting lost! While we were lost we found our old neighbor Taylor! She's so cute! Anyway, after a while Isaac started to get a bit stressed. I think that the corn walls were feeling a little close! And Lucas kept saying "Scary" and then he'd say "No, not scary. It's just corn!" It was so fun!

Once we found our way out we hit the slide again! The boys had so much fun doing it with Grandma! She's certainly not an old 60!

When we were leaving Isaac said "Well now I know what a corn maze is. It's a place where you go to get lost and get a little scared and have fun!"

I couldn't have said it better myself!

WOW!! Now that's a piggy Back!

I just thought that this was an awesome picture, with an awesome uncle! We love you Uncle David!

Making Oatmeal. 5 year old style.

I was just sitting here catching up on my email, and I started to smell a horrible burning smell! Since I wasn't cooking anything and the boys were "coloring" it took me a second to register that it was coming from the microwave and Isaac was standing on the oven watching it. I said "Isaac what in the world are you doing? You can't just turn on the microwave while it's empty!" and he informed me that it wasn't empty. He was making oatmeal. mind you he'd just finished breakfast an hour ago. when I looked in the microwave I found a bowl with oatmeal in it. The only problem is that there was no water......and that he'd set it for 7 minutes! Luckily I stopped it while there was still 5 left, but burning peach oatmeal smells horrible! Isaac keeps me on my toes!

Snow Day!! Is this the first of October?

I cannot believe the snow that we got yesterday! There was 11inches! On October 12th!! We've never had snow by Tyler's birthday! The boys were in heaven though. This morning when mike went to work it was 24 degrees! And of course by the end of this week it's supposed to be in the 70's!

Party Time!!

It was b-day party central around here last week! We had Isaac's party and Nickelcade on Wednesday, and Tyler's on Friday. Nicklecade was great. It was the prefect place for that many little ones! Mary came here and stayed with the baby so that I could go. It was great. Then for Tyler's b-day we did cake and presents here and then Mike, Travis, Mary and Mike, took all of the kids to see "The City Of Ember". Tyler's class had just finshed the book and so they were all excited. His teacher even came. (Tyler invited his teacher but only after informing him that "my parents said that you would be expected to purchase your own ticket" I laughed and laughed. Especially when his teacher called me to let me know tha the'd never thought we were going to buy his tickets! I took the "well he'd have to buy his own tickets!" comment as a joke. But I guess Tyler is a little too literal for that one!) I stayed home for the movie, but I hear they had a great time!
