Big Boy

Look at that big boy! He's sitting and army crawling around so fast it's crazy! These Pic's are from last Friday and it was his first real "sitting up on his own" time. I love each new little stage!

Getting Ready For Kindergarten

Well, it's time. Another one is going to go to Kindergarten. The other day we had Isaac's kindergarten check up. It took forever and the kids did really well considering how long they sat in that tiny room. Isaac wasn't thrilled about the finger poke, but he HATED having to go to the bathroom in a cup. He would have even handled shots better than that! Oh well. You can never guess what that cute boy is going to say!

Today was Kindergarten roundup. He had a blast...LOVED the water table, but "It took longer than I expected you know". He want's both teachers! I guess he'll be easy to please!

April Fools!

We had a great April Fools Day at the Staten house. It started with "Magic Milk" in the boys cereal. We put several drops of food coloring in the bottom of the bowl and then added the cereal. Then we took the bowls to the table. when we added the milk it magically went from white to blue, red or yellow! Tyler and Matt LOVED it....Isaac ran to the couch crying. I still don't really get why but oh well. Once Lucas woke up he thought it was fun.

Matt switched the cereal bags around.

Tyler got our old copy of Eragon (that the dog chewed up ages ago) and wrote "Fazzio" on it just like his teacher does on all of his books. Then he took it to school and told his teacher that his friend left his book at our house and the dog ate it. For a second Mr. Fazzio was really worried. That second was enough . Tyler has been flying high all day.

Mike thought he was pretty funny too. Not only did he have several people upset about our poor bunny (no the snake DID NOT get out, and Ushi is just fine) but he also did something to autocad at work so that there were weird pop ups when people tried to work.

I (thanks to Jamie) made "fish sticks and peas" for dinner, and cupcakes for dessert. the fish sticks were wafer cookies, frosted and rolled in corn flakes. The peas were laffy taffy balls. We also had seedless strawberry jam for ketchup! Then I made meatloaf cup cakes and mashed potato frosting! The kids were hilarious! The fish sticks and peas were figured out pretty quickly, but the look on Ty's face when he took a bite of the cupcake was priceless. They had no idea. Then they kept saying "This is the coolest dinner ever!!!"

Happy April Fools Day!

Happy Snake, Sad Kids

We regret to inform you that, while we slept, our boa constrictor got out of her cage. We found her this morning in Ushi the rabbit's cage, only no Ushi. Rest in peace, dear bunny.

A Fun Little Trip to IFA = A New Addition to the Zoo !!

This afternoon my friend Jamie stopped by to show us her cute new bunny.

The little boys fell in love and I started bugging Mike about "just going to look at them". (I actually was interested in the chicks. I would love to have chickens and yummy fresh eggs. ) Anyway, Isaac said "Mom ask Dad if we can get a bunny and keep it alive". He knows his Dad WAY too well. He knew that Mike would say something about snake food.

After a quick dinner we headed to IFA. There is a WAY cool new IFA in Ogden. I could spend hours there! I got seed potatoes, and a square foot gardening book and onions..... And left Mike to decide about the bunny. Needless to say we came home with a bunny. It will reside outside, due to allergies, but the boys don't care. They are in heaven. One more pet for them to love and me to feed! The naming process was painful. EVERYONE had an opinion and nothing seemed right. I wanted a great name for our newest addition. So our little girl is..........Ushi .........That's Czech for ears and said "ooh she".

5 Boys, 3 snakes, a Beagle and a Bunny= A ZOO !!!

On The Move!

It's crazy how quickly little ones become big ones. I came home from somewhere the other night to find out that Nick had army crawled from the family room, down the hall, and into my room! Ok so he was screaming and mad because he wanted the remote, but he was motivated!

Gettin Down and Derby!!!

Last night was the Pinewood Derby! I didn't get to go this year....the baby......but Mike and the boys had a blast! Everyone made cars and after the "official" races everyone else got to race theirs too. Tyler got third place and "EVEN BEAT JARED ONCE!!!" Mike's goal is to one day beat the Christiansen's! Mike and Jon are both engineers and they really enjoy the challenge! Boys never grow up!
