Gettin Down and Dirty!

We got a load of Top Soil on Tuesday morning. The boys and I then spent the afternoon moving dirt (ok so most of the boys played, but they were cute!). I got the flowerbed in the back filled today and then Mike got home, took 2 loads back and then broke the wheelbarrow! He sure got off easy! Of course then he fixed it and finished the garden for me! Then on Thursday Grandpa Jerry came and carted off the rest of the soil to it's home! The kids (Lucas, Isaac, Eli and Tanner) all had a blast playing in the dirt and running from the tractor!

The boys are so good at helping me and working hard!

Look at those feet! Can you imagine the mess they made out of my house??????

Boys and dirt.....there isn't much better is there?

I think I need a tractor. It's so much easier!
Lucas was beat when it was all said and done!

A Great Easter Weekend!

Well, it's taken me a week, but I am finally blogging about our crazy Easter weekend. Thursday Mike called from work and said that he had just been told that he had to go to St. George the next day for a meeting. I had just talked to Mary and the boys were sleeping over at her house so.....I decided I wanted to go with him! My Saint of a sister kept the 4 older boys not only over night but all day the next day! 7 boys can be A LOT!!!!! (Especially when they go to bed after 10:30 and then wake up before 6!) Anyway Mike and I (and Nick) left home around 7 and hit St George around 12:15. The Baby slept from Draper to St. George! And then went back to sleep! It was great! (Of course he DID NOT sleep much at all on the way home the next day but you can't win them all can ya?) The next day we had a calm morning. We drove around and looked at the job site and then went to see my Aunt Brande. She hadn't seen the baby yet so that was a lot of fun. Then Mike went to his meeting and I hit the outlet mall! We ate a late lunch with Mike's Mom and Dad and then headed home!

Saturday we had our Easter party at Mom's. We all met and went bowling..........2 games of bowling=a whole lot of fun+a whole lot of tired and ornery children! Then we had a great Easter Egg hunt in the poring rain, a great dinner, colored eggs, decorated a "bunny house", had an Eater lesson and tried to keep kids from melting down! It was a great day.

Sunday was a great relaxing and Christ Centered day. Our little egg hunt and basket excitement was fun and the boys were happy with their Webkins and Bakugan. And then we watched a movie about the Crucifixion and headed to Church. A great way to spend Easter!

Monday the boys and I helped our friend Jamie move. Every time I think I might want to move I just move a friend.....then I'm really content and happy with my house! We were all kneeling down for prayers Monday night and the phone rang. I answered it and by the time I got back Tyler, Isaac, Lucas and the dog were all asleep! Moving after everything else WORE THEM OUT!

It was a very full and fun weekend!

A Proud Mom Moment

I have a ton I need to blog about after this last weekend, but I'll have to get to that later. Today I have to write about my wonderful boys. It had been a crazy day. I'd had preschool here (which I actually LOVED), I've been feeling the effects of the stomach flu, Tyler called from school saying that he'd thrown up, and my house was a mess. But it's Kyle's birthday and I really wanted to take him some balloons, so I ignored everything else and headed to Mary's. As we got close to her house I saw a dog in the road that had just been hit. An old man was in the road bent over it waving cars around it and looking completely heart broken. Tyler said "Oh MOM! The dog! That Man!" and then he started to cry. Matt and Isaac were suddenly silent and staring out the window. They were so upset. When we got to Mary's and told her about it she knew who it was and told us that the dog was like that man's child. She called Mike and told him to check on the man on his way home. When Mike walked in Tyler said "was he ok?" Mike was confused and Tyler said "the man with the dog? Was he alright? I'm worried". And then tonight when he prayed he prayed for the man. That he would be ok and not be too sad. Compassion and love for strangers is something that we all need, and lack. I was reminded of the Savoir telling us to be more like a child. I hope that I can be more like my boys.

A Great Preschool Easter Party

Yesterday we had a GREAT preschool Easter party. Ariana did an amazing job. The kids all met at her house for circle time while the rest of the mom's hid Easter Eggs at the park. The kids all walked up to the park where we had a story, Easter Egg hunt, an egg drop contest (each child built an "egg contraption" and then our wonderful Riverdale Firefighters dropped them off of the Fire Station roof!), a cute Easter lesson and lunch. The weather was perfect and it was SO nice to be outside. We all came home with pink cheeks, a little bit of candy and very happy & tired kids!
